The second week of university started off really well. Learnt the basics of the processes that go into making a film and that being the executive producer is the most unenviable position in the crew there is and that being an associate producer is not the high profile job that the name suggests. It was interesting to see just how many people go into the making of a film and why it is that it can take years of hard work for the final movie to make it to the big screen or even if it goes straight to DVD.

I also learnt that independent films can tell just as important a message as the big budgeted Hollywood feature films and that big production companies are in the film making industry for the money and therefore run their productions purely to make money rather than to put out a simply great film.

Got to watch an interesting tit bit of an independent flick called "BRICK". Very interesting and slightly odd in the way the characters interact and talk to one another. What I did like about the film was the real feel of the start and the intrigue that is created in the first twenty minutes that makes me want to know just who did kill this mysterious Emily character.
